In saying novelty cakes, what I’m referring to are cakes that are made to look like something else; ‘illusion cakes’ is a term that’s sometimes used, I’ve noticed, on Bake Off. Novelty cakes are always an enjoyable challenge. If you can think of something you’d like to be created in cake form, I’d love to rise to the challenge of making that happen. I believe it’s the little details that make the difference and work hard to get things just right, so much so, sometimes people don’t realise at first that what they’re looking at is, in fact, a cake!
